Some mainboard manufacturer present customer a connector for adding a Secondary Flashrom.
A customer can add a Secondary Flashrom via this connector.
If pin-out is correct and the Second Flashrom is progammed with correct BIOS,
the mainboard will boot with the secondary flashrom instead of ON BOARD - PRIMARY FLASHROM.
It is useful when BIOS repair.
Each manufacturer use different circuit.
So, we need to confirm the circuit of M/B.
This page describes PIN-OUT of them.
1. Standard MainBoard. ( by Intel design guide )

  - Most typical M/B has above circuit for BIOS Flashrom.

SPI Reverse Socket KIT or SIP8 4in1 socket is available with above circuit.

- Most of MSI Mainboard that uses SOP8 Flashrom has above circuit.

-  You can add Secondary Flashrom with above wiring.

or next MSI JSPI External Flashrom module($15) is available.

- ASUS Mainboard has 2 type. TYPE-1 has series resistor between Mainboard chip-set and flashrom.
It reduces IO impact between Programmer, chip-set and Flashrom.
So, Driect writing(On-line programming) is possible.

- Above wiring is possible.

or ASUS on-board(SMT) SPI-Flashrom update cable is available.

- Same circuit with MSI JSPI. Just, pin-out is different.

 - Above wiring is possible.

or MSI JSPI External Flashrom module is available.

5. HP ASUS M/B. (example : ASUS IPIBL )
